Benang Stokel Waterfall Lombok is an unreal two in one waterfall. This means in one spot you have double the waterfall streams and in the rainy season there is even three. Benang Stokel Waterfall Lombok is a great place to observe the beauty of nature and relax by some waterfalls. There is also a spot for some waterfall jumping for those that are up for it.
How to get to Benang Stokel Waterfall Lombok
We drove on our scooters from the main area of Kuta which took us just under 2 hours. We would have been there a lot sooner although the GPS, along with the half undeveloped island, lead us through some dead end roads and wrong turns. If you’re driving from Kuta, be sure to drive along the main road past the airport and from there continue on to the waterfall. The route which we took lead us through many small villages with unpaved roads.
The best way to get around Lombok is by renting a scooter. We rented our scooter for 50K IDR per day. Getting around the island is very easy as majority of the roads are newly paved. Some of the roads are unpaved with bits of rock and loose gravel, but nothing too extreme.
The pricing is a little confusing but they will try charge you 70k IDR for entrance into the park which consists of various waterfalls. They’ll say you need a guide and that the pricing changes based on how many of you there are.
In the end we managed to bargain the price down to 50K IDR per person to visit 2 waterfalls without a guide. For this price we were also able to drive ourselves on our scooters to the waterfall instead of walking. They generally charge you 35K IDR to drive your scooter to the waterfall on top of entry.
What to expect
Benang Stokel Waterfall Lombok is located among an eco park with 5 other waterfalls. You can visit the famous Benang Kelambu Waterfall right after you’re done at Stokel Waterfall. You can also drive around this eco park to visit the other waterfalls. Although, to access Benang Stokel Waterfall Lombok, you will not need a motorbike.
The pathway to Benang Stokel is located right next to the entrance gate/ticket booth for the eco park. It is less than a 10 minute walk along a paved path and down some stairs to access the waterfall. Just before reaching Benang Stokel Waterfall you will come across another waterfall which you can jump off. It’s an 11-meter jump into a creek that leads through a small jungle canyon. To get back up, continue along the creek. You’ll notice an opening in the trees on the left with a climbable rock wall and a small pathway that leads you out.
Benang Stokel Waterfall Lombok is known because of its two waterfall streams that flow off the side of the cliff. We noticed that the third stream was barely visible, however it is sure to appear stronger in the rainy season. There isn’t much room for swimming at this waterfall as the water is very shallow. However, you can still stand under the falls for a refreshing shower.
This waterfall is a very quiet spot with not many other tourists. The few tourists that do visit, only stick around for a few minutes before heading off to the others. This means you will have all the time to take photos as well as enjoy the waterfall to yourself.
