Silver Beach Koh Samui (also known as Crystal Bay) is exactly what you imagine when you think of the Thai islands. Silver Beach is a small cove filled with white powdery sand, tropical blue water and stunning granite boulders. This beach perfectly resembles the Seychelles islands which have been popping up all over social media. Silver Beach is our favourite beach and we definitely think it’s the best beach in Koh Samui.
How to get to Silver Beach Koh Samui
To get to Koh Samui, we used 12Go to book an overnight train and ferry from Bangkok. 12Go is a super cheap and reliable way get around Thailand and other popular Southeast Asian countries.

Silver Beach is located directly between Chaweng and Lamai and the entrance can be a little hard to spot. There is a big red sign indicating the way to the beach just off the main road. This will take you into what seems like a resort, however just continue along and you’ll reach a motorbike parking spot. We parked our motorbike and followed the path through the resort which led us onto the beach. It’s roughly a 10 minute drive from both Chaweng and Lamai Beach. The easiest way to access Silver Beach, otherwise known as Crystal Bay Koh Samui, would be to rent a scooter. You can rent scooters for as little as 150 Baht per day.
Where to stay in Koh Samui
The most popular area to stay in Koh Samui is on the east side of the island, close to Chaweng beach. We stayed close to the Samui Poshtel and found it to be the perfect spot. If you’re not on a budget then you can check out the resorts in the area such as The Samui Beach Resort as well as Baan Talay Resort.

What to Expect at the best Beach in Koh Samui
Silver Beach Koh Samui is easy for the public to miss. It’s perfectly located between a bunch of resorts, making it somewhat exclusive and private. You’ll also hardly find anyone coming around trying to sell you food or items. There’s only a few little restaurants and bars on the beach for food and drink options.
Silver Beach is the perfect spot for those looking to relax amongst a tropical paradise. The sand is powdery white and the turquoise waters are calm and shallow. Snorkelling is popular due to the crystal clear water, with plenty of fish and coral to see further out along the rocks. Along the left and right of the beach there are stunning, large granite boulders with palm trees and lush greenery as the backdrop. Additionally, if you explore along the rocks to the right you’ll also come across a tiny hidden bay. This little secret spot is full of rocks as well as dense jungle greens that look like something out of a castaway movie.
The tropical backdrop and boulders make for some incredible photos that are sure to look like paradise. Silver Beach is Koh Samui’s best kept secret and it’s without a doubt the best beach in Koh Samui.
