Leela Beach Koh Phangan is a secluded hidden gem and is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island! You’ll want to spend all day relaxing and swinging between the palm trees or swimming in the crystal clear water.
How to get to Leela Beach Koh Phangan
To get to Koh Phangan, we used 12Go to book a quick ferry from Koh Tao. 12Go is a super cheap and reliable way to get around Thailand and other popular Southeast Asian countries.

Leela Beach is roughly a 30 minute drive from Thong Sala Pier. We drove ourselves on our scooter which we rented for 180Baht per day. To access the beach, we followed our GPS and parked at the back of a resort and just walked through. We’re unsure if the staff have any problems with this, although we didn’t have any issues.
Where to stay
There are plenty of budget and luxury accommodation options all around Koh Phangan. We decided to stay near Thong Sala pier as it was close to the popular night markets and food markets. A nice budget accommodation option in this area is Tranquil Bungalows by Beck’s. You’ll have your own little bungalow close to everything that you need. A luxury option close by is also the popular Kupu Kupu Phangan Beach Villas which has an infinity pool overlooking the beautiful blue ocean.

What to expect at Leela Beach Koh Phangan
Leela Beach is one of our favourite beaches on Koh Phangan. Our favourite thing about this beach is the giant palm trees which have a long rope swing tied between them as well as the long floating jetty. The jetty is also a cool spot to sit and relax while observing the beach from a different angle.
The water on the beach is clean and very blue although it is also quite shallow. You’ll be able to sit and relax in the shallow water close to the shore. However, there is quite a lot of seaweed further out the back which can be annoying to swim around. The sand along the beach is perfectly clean, thin and very white.
Additionally, Leela Beach is surrounded by a resort so you won’t find any cheap or local restaurants along the sand. The only food option we saw was the restaurant which is part of the hotel.
If you’re after a perfect slice of paradise to spend your afternoon or take some beach front photos, Leela Beach is the perfect spot! You can also check out Haad Rin Beach which is very close by. Around Haad Rin you’ll be able to find better options for cheap food.
