The Mehrangarh Fort viewpoint at Singhoria Hill looks back over the desert landscape and provides the best view of the fort in the distance. This viewpoint is lesser-known to tourists so you’ll be able to enjoy the stunning views all to yourself.
How to get to Mehrangarh Fort Viewpoint
The viewpoint is located at Singhoria Hill which is just a short 10 minute walk from the fort itself. You can also reach the fort by walking from the city which will take you roughly 15 minutes. From Mehrangarh Fort you’ll notice a hill in the distance with stairs leading up it. Follow the road past the carpark and you’ll reach the bottom of the stairs located just beside the main road.
The stairs lead up to the rocks where you can climb around. You can explore the area yourself to find the best view of the landscape. Additionally, you can head up to the fort wall for some views overlooking the other side.
Where to stay
The best and most popular area for tourists to stay in Jodhpur is close to Mehrangarh Fort or around the clock tower. We stayed at Shivam Paying Guest House and found it to be the perfect distance from the fort. We also didn’t need to go out for food because the guesthouse has a restaurant on the rooftop. If you’re looking for something more luxury, you can check out RAAS Jodhpur. They have beautiful classic Indian architecture, a pool, and are also located close to the fort.

The stairs leading up are open publicly at all times so there are no entrance fees or opening hours.
