Na Muang Waterfalls are two waterfalls located only a short drive away from each other. Each waterfall is unique with the first waterfall being a tall slanted cliff of running water, while the second waterfall is higher up in the mountains with beautiful views of Koh Samui below. Visiting these two waterfalls make for an awesome day trip and are both the best Koh Samui waterfalls.
How to get to Na Muang Waterfalls
The Na Muang Waterfalls are located roughly 30 minutes from the popular tourist area of Chaweng Beach. From Chaweng we drove on our scooter which we rented for 150Baht per day. Both the waterfalls are located only a short 5 minute drive away from eachother.
Na Muang Waterfalls Entrance fee
Na Muang Waterfall 1 has a 20Baht parking fee, while Na Muang Waterfall 2 also has a 30Baht parking fee. You can redeem your parking ticket for a small bottle of water. At Na Muang Waterfall 2 you can also pay 100Baht to ride off road in a 4×4 to the start of the waterfall walk.
What to expect at the best Koh Samui Waterfalls
Na Muang Waterfall 1
Na Muang Waterfall 1 is an easy to access waterfall. You can drive your scooter right up to the entrance of the falls. This waterfall is a tall slanted cliff while water runs down along the steep rock face and into the small pool below. There are plenty of locals and tourists that come to this spot during the day to cool off. You’ll even find some people jumping off the rocks into the refreshing water below. While this spot is an awesome place to cool off, you’ll want to be spending most of your time exploring Na Muang Waterfall 2.
Na Muang Waterfall 2
Na Muang Waterfall 2 is a slightly harder waterfall to access. However once you reach the top you will have an incredible pool of water that overlooks the palm trees and forest below like an infinity pool.
Located just after the parking entrance is a small safari park where you can view elephants, tigers and also ride quad bikes. However we don’t recommend paying or supporting companies that promote elephant riding or photos with tigers.
You have the option to pay 100Baht to ride in a 4×4 to the start of the waterfall entrance. The road to the start of the entrance isn’t at all hard or strenuous as it’s just uphill for less than 10 minutes. The only hard thing about it is the heat. If you decide to walk, be sure to keep left. There will be a split in the road where you can walk up to the right or down to the left. Down to the left is where you will find the start of the waterfall walk.
Once you come to the start of the walk, it is an easy path to follow. Keep following the rope hand rails which are tied to the trees. The path is full of dirt and stones although it’s not slippery or dangerous during good weather. After roughly 20 minutes you will arrive to the top of the waterfall. From the very top of the waterfall you will see clear views of the palm trees and dense forest below. To the left there is a small pool that overlooks the view which is an awesome spot to take photographs!
These two waterfalls are definitely the best Koh Samui waterfalls and are an awesome adventure to add to your trip.
