Pai Plong Beach in Krabi is a beautiful hidden cove with fine white sand and incredible limestone cliff views. The best part is that you won’t find any crowds or boats here like you would at Ao Nang Beach. Pai Plong Beach is part of the Centara Grand Beach Resort, however anyone is able to use the private beach for free! All of these things sure make this spot one of the best beaches in Ao Nang.
How to get to Pai Plong Beach
Pai Plong Beach is part of the Centara Grand Beach Resort. To get there, you can either walk from Ao Nang or hop on a quick longtail boat. The walk from Ao Nang Beach will take about 15 minutes. Head to the southern end of Ao Nang Beach and continue walking along the wooden monkey trail. This wooden pathway will take you straight to Pai Plong Beach. You might even be lucky enough to spot some monkeys in the trees or along the walkways.
You can also purchase a longtail boat ticket at the Ao Nang Boat Service Club. Tickets to Centara Grand Beach Resort cost 100 Baht ($5 AUD) per person, one way. The service runs daily from 8AM – 6PM. They run a nightly service from 6PM – 12PM, but you’ll have to pay a little extra. The Ao Nang Boat Service Club is also where you can book your Hong Island Tour and many other island hopping tours.
What to expect
As you enter the beach, there is a little desk and security guard where you’ll have to sign in and out. The beach is maintained by the resort so you’ll find that it’s a lot cleaner. Additionally, there aren’t as many people on the beach and there are less boats coming in and out of the bay. Unlike Ao Nang Beach, this place has a much quieter setting which is perfect for relaxing. It’s also much more beautiful with its perfect white sand and picturesque views of the surrounding limestone cliffs.
There’s a bit of shade underneath the trees where you’ll be able to hide from the sun. We went at midday and there was still plenty of room on the beach to find a spot. The water isn’t incredibly clear but still enjoyable to cool off in. There are kayak rentals which you can also rent. Guests at the hotel can rent the kayaks for 200 Baht ($10 AUD) per hour but non guests will have a pay a little more. If you’re interested in using the facilities at Centara Grand Beach Resort, you can purchase a day pass for 500 Baht ($25 AUD) per person. This will give you access to their stunning outside pools and other beach activities.
