Sairee Beach Koh Tao is one of the most popular and busy Koh Tao beaches. It’s known for its beach front swings, bent palm trees and beautiful sunsets. You can grab a drink at one of the many beach front bars or restaurants and enjoy the evening sky.
How to get to Sairee Beach Koh Tao

Sairee Beach Koh Tao is easily accessible and is located on the east of the island. When staying on Koh Tao, chances are you’ll be staying close to Sairee Beach as this spot has the most accommodation options. Our accommodation was right across from the beach so it was only a 5 minute walk, although you can also drive your scooter. We managed to rent our scooters for 150 Baht per day.
Where to stay
There are a variety of places to stay on Koh Tao. There are budget accommodation options spread out all over the island, although the most popular place to stay is along the west close to Sairee Beach. If you’re looking for a quiet place to stay, a popular guesthouse is Happy Bungalow. It’s located at the quiet end of the beach so you can get away from the loud bars and markets. If you’re looking to stay closer to the action, you can try Indie Hostel.

What to expect at Sairee Beach Koh Tao
Sairee Beach Koh Tao is located within the main tourist district of the island. Sairee Beach is the most popular spot for tourists as this is where you’ll find majority of the accomodation options. You’ll also find a variety of bars, restaurants, tattoo shops and diving centres. Koh Tao is a very well-known place to get your diving license and you’ll find no shortage of places to learn.
The tide during the day can be low so it may not be the best for swimming. However, you’ll find plenty of people sunbathing under the warm sun. You can also find bent palm trees and many swings to relax on while you listen to the ocean.
Sairee Beach is an ideal spot to watch sunset as you have a perfect, undisturbed view of the colourful sky. You’ll notice many tourists laying on the white grainy sand enjoying the sun or the evening light. In the evening the beachfront bars come to life, offering bean bags so you can have a drink and enjoy the sunset while relaxing on the sand. The beach is right next to popular night markets and food stalls. After watching the sunset you can head there for some great cheap food and nightlife.
Additionally, if you plan on visiting the small neighbouring island of Koh Nang Yuan for the day, Sairee Beach is where you’ll want to go to grab a water taxi!
