Selong Belanak Beach Lombok is a large stretch of clean beach with calm blue water. It is surrounded by tall mountains and small bays. This beach is fairly touristy and is very popular among people who want to learn how to surf. You’ll find everything you need on this beach such as endless warungs, snacks and sun beds.
How to get to Selong Belanak Beach Lombok
We drove on our scooters straight after visiting Mystical Neverland Bat Cave which took roughly 20 minutes. From our accommodation in Kuta it would have taken 30 minutes. The roads leading to Selong Belanak Beach Lombok are new and very easy to drive on.
The best way to get around Lombok is by renting a scooter. We rented our scooter for 50K IDR per day. Getting around the island is very easy as the majority of the roads are newly paved. Some of the roads are unpaved with bits of rock and loose gravel, but nothing too extreme.
Where to stay in Lombok
Lombok is a large island with a variety of areas to stay, although we found the best area for tourists to be Kuta. Kuta is full of restaurants, cafes and clothes shops. We stayed at Three V and it was perfect for our extended stay. The rooms were clean with a lovely patio for us to sit on. If you’re looking to stay in a beautiful villa, a new and modern accommodation option is Harmony Villas. It’s currently one of the most popular places to stay in Kuta.

What to expect
Selong Belanak Beach Lombok is a beautiful, large stretch of beach which is full of white, soft powdery sand. You’ll find many people learning how so surf here as the calm ocean conditions make it perfect for beginners. As you look out to the ocean you will notice the tall mountains which surround the beach, as well as the neighbouring bays. You’ll also notice dozens of fishermans boats which are located towards the back of the beach and some locals cooking up some fish.
Selong Belanak Beach has everything you need, from endless warungs, drink stands as well as sun beds. Unfortunately out of all the beaches we visited in Lombok, this beach is the busiest and most touristy. The crazy amount of fishermens boats which are both in the ocean and on the sand congest the beach and make it very crowded. However if you don’t mind the crowds, it is still a great spot to relax and spend the day at the beach between the surrounding mountains.
