We definitely recommend staying close to the Ancient Town as this has the most restaurant options, and you can also explore the night market in the town. Nha Lan Homestay is a cute accommodation option with colourful rooms located right near the Ancient Town. Experiencing the unique River Basket Tour is a must while you’re in Vietnam and Hoi An is the perfect place to do it! The traditional circular boats are woven out of bamboo in the shape of a basket and can even hold up to 5 people. The locals paddle the small boat through water coconut forests where you will also be able to watch the local fishermen go about their daily routines. The river basket tour is a really fun and relaxing way to see Hoi An and spend a day out on the water.

2. An Bang Beach

Spending a day relaxing by the beautiful An Bang Beach is definitely something everyone can enjoy. The beach is very easy to access due to it being only a short 15-20 minute bicycle ride from Hoi An Town. This beach is beautiful, tranquil and is also full of many beach chairs and umbrellas. You’ll be able to relax all day in the shade of an umbrella or lay in the sun. You can also watch people jet ski and parasail, or you can even try it out for yourself.

The Motorcycle Food Tour is a must and was one of our favourite things to do in Hoi An. On this tour you’ll be driven on the back of a motorcycle to different restaurants and try traditional Vietnamese food. It’s really a great way to see the Hoi An landscape as well as try delicious meals you otherwise wouldn’t have. You’ll be sure to finish the tour with some new favourite foods!

4. Bicycle Around Ancient Town

Riding a bicycle around ancient town is one of the most popular things to do in Hoi An. Ancient town is famous for its mix of Vietnamese, Japanese, Chinese, and French architecture. You’ll find all the buildings around ancient town to be beautiful and brightly painted yellow. In the centre of Ancient town is also a river where you can hop in a boat to take a cruise down the stream, or you can also buy a small paper lantern to place into the river. At night ancient town comes to life due to its popular night market which is famous for its lanterns. Ancient town is the heart of Hoi An so its definitely worth spending some time exploring this beautiful area.

5. Try Cau Lầu

Cau Lầu is the most traditional dish in Hoi An. It’s incredibly delicious and made of noodles, pork, and local greens. This dish is only found in Hoi An so don’t miss out on trying it! It is sold at almost every restaurant in Hoi An and Ancient Town so you’ll have no problem finding it. If you go on the Motorcycle Food Tour, you’ll also be able to try it while on the tour!

    I found You by your map on Pinterest. I wish to go to the same places as you. Pleas Tel me are 2 weeks is enough? How long You been in Vietnam?

      Hi Anna!
      We did all of Vietnam in 1 month. If you want to visit all the spots that we did, we would definitely recommend more than 2 weeks. Travelling Vietnam definitely takes some time although you could still do it in 2 weeks if you just want to visit the main places.
